A probe cover, or Prove Protection, is a condom for medical equipment. It is therefore not intended to be put on the penis for contraceptive purposes, but this is rolled on things made of metal.
The general objective of a probe cover (probe protection) is to protect straight and curved transducers during radiology, vascular access, pain management, orthopedic or anesthesiological procedures. This type of cover reduces the risk of infections and also protects the equipment from body fluids.
The big difference between a tube cover and a condom is that the probe cover does not come with lubricant and that there is no sperm container. In terms of size, the probe cover is like a normal-sized condom.
